Our Story
SkyHigh Music is a Virginia Beach–based songwriting and production team crafting original audio that bridges hip-hop’s foundation with the future of R&B and Pop . We’re known for a genre-fluid sound—rooted in culture, built for replay value, and delivered with a professional, release-ready finish.
Our story starts in the mid-90s, deep in hip-hop culture, where we learned the craft the right way: studying records, digging in the crates, chopping samples and playing original music that moves people. Coming up in the era that shaped modern sound, we were inspired to start making beats—and that obsession with detail became a signature.
That foundation evolved into our edge today: we don’t just make beats—we write songs. We build records with structure, melody, and emotion, so artists aren’t stuck with loops… they leave with music that feels complete.
In 2003, we launched SkyHigh Studios in New Jersey and built relationships across the industry. In 2013, we returned home and re-established SkyHigh Studios VA, expanding on a catalog that spans hip-hop, R&B, Pop and Rock plus work for sync, commercial projects, and scoring—translating culture into multiple formats without losing the soul.
Our sound is futuristic but soulful: R&B warmth, modern edge Hip Hop, and lyrical wordplay that sticks. And while trends shift fast, our approach stays consistent—culture-first creativity, real collaboration, and detail-driven execution.
